He’s already chronicled the world-changing lives of the Americans who weathered the Depression and won World War II. What could Tom Brokaw possibly do for an encore?
We’ve got one word for you: Boom!
In this masterful, all-encompassing new book, the former NBC News anchor tackles another great generation and its turbulent times: the Baby Boomers and the 1960s. As with The Greatest Generation, Brokaw blows the cobwebs off history and makes it live again by telling the story of the ’60s—from Kennedy to King, from Woodstock to Watts, from My Lai to the moon landing—in the voices of its participants. Through interviews with famous figures, such as Bill Clinton, Dick Cheney, Paul Simon, James Taylor, Nora Ephron, Colin Powell and many more—plus countless (extra)ordinary Americans from all walks of life—Brokaw weaves the era’s countless threads into a cohesive and compelling tapestry, unified by his own insightful and intimate style.
From JFK’s assassination to Nixon’s resignation and everything in between—civil rights, women’s lib, the pop culture revolution, Vietnam, the New Right, the counterculture and more—Boom! offers an unprecedented look at the generation that changed our nation forever.

Being a 'boomer' who grew up during the '60's', I found the book very objective and informative. For the people who didn't understand what was happening during this time in history; and the people who are too young to remember the time, this book makes sence of what happened and what eventually came out of it!
Good reading,

Having been born in the early 60s, I missed out on alot of the generation, but Tom let me in on some of it! By interviewing different people I got to see the one person perspective instead of the whole vision. Thanks Tom
